When pricing websites there are a few things to take into consideration, such as the size of the site, what kind of layout and content is required, whether you opt for a maintenance plan, and how much time will go into building the site. For example, a simple layout might take considerably less time to create than something that's image-heavy with a lot of spiffy graphics. Everybody's needs are different, therefore pricing is worked out on a client by client basis. Please email me if you're interested, so we can discuss what sort of package you're after.
I accept payments through PayPal if you live outside the UK, or you can send a personal cheque if you live in the UK.

Due to the amount of preliminary work that goes into mocking up designs, I charge a small, non-refundable deposit of £25. This covers the time spent creating samples, email exchanges and research. This basically means if a client changes their mind and cancels the commission after I've already started, I won't have spent hours mocking up designs for nothing.
Once a design is settled upon I start building the site, based on the client's preferences which we would cover in the preliminary samples.
A basic package does not include the maintenance of your website (editing pages, updating with new content regularly, etc.). In the basic package, you will get:
- An awesome, eye-catching, custom-made website layout. (See Portfolio page for examples.)
- The arrangement of any content on the page—text, images, links, buttons/banners, tables, image galleries, with easy to use navigation.
- Search engine optimisation. This includes research into primary keywords associated with your business or the content of your site, and making sure those keywords are placed strategically on the page.
- A custom made favicon that matches your website design.
- Web hosting advice and support. This includes help with finding a web host that suits your needs if you don't already have one. I will also take care of uploading your website to a new or existing server.
- Basic contact form. Any queries or comments made on your site via this form will be emailed directly to you.
- Integrated Twitter / Facebook feed (if required).
Same as above, but this also includes:
- 6 month maintenance plan. For example, if you run a small business and you have a constantly changing service or product, I will edit your pages on a regular basis for up to six months to reflect those changes, keeping your customers up to date. There is an option to renew this plan after the six months are up.
- 12 month maintenance plan. Same as above, but I will update your pages for a full year. There is the option to renew this plan after the 12 months are up.
I charge on a monthly basis. If you choose a full website package, it means a regular monthly fee, which will be agreed upon based on the size of the updates.
You have the right to cancel the full plan at any time, although if an update has been made at the beginning of the month and you cancel the plan halfway through the month, you will still be required to pay for that month.
The following are not covered in the basic and full packages and will be provided at an extra cost. It's a bit like a pick-and-mix, where you can choose what extras you want, if any.
- Content creation: If you'd like me to write any content for your site, an extra charge will be applied. This is worked out on a page-by-page basis and also depends on how much content is needed.
- Pre-existing photos and images: If you provide images that are not part of my original design (for example, a small image gallery page), an extra £4 per picture will be added to the package. This includes any editing, enhancing, manipulation or optimising in Photoshop.
- Photos and images provided by me: Please note, this offer only applies to clients in my local area. Upon contact, I will establish whether I'm able to travel out to you. An extra £8 per photo will be added to your package. This charge also includes any editing, enhancing, optimising or manipulation in Photoshop. I use an Apple iPhone 4 camera.
- Minor tweaks: (Basic package only.) If you would like content changed after the finished website has gone live, an extra fee of £4 per tweak will be applied. Depending on the size of the tweak and how long it takes, this fee may go up. All details will be discussed before any tweaks are made. This offer does not include changes to the design itself, only the content.
- Matching Twitter background: If you have a Twitter page and would like a background that matches your website, I can create one for you with some basic images/information on it (for example, your logo and tag line). See examples here.
I also offer logo design as a separate package. If you have an existing web site but no official logo, I can design one for you at a reasonable fee.
Branding plays a large role in a visitor's first impressions of your site, and an eye-catching, functional logo can be used on not only websites, but also on products, labels, official paperwork, and stationary. The key is finding something that reflects the type of business or product you're offering, and creating a design that will be easily recognisable and memorable, as well as unique and nice-looking.
If you're interested in logo design, or you want to ask any questions, drop me an email and we can discuss it. Like a web site, the price of a logo depends greatly on a number of factors, like how big or intricate the logo is and how long it takes to build.
Take a look at the logo section of my Portfolio for examples.
If you'd like a custom layout for LiveJournal, please send me an email and we can discuss it. LiveJournal layouts generally take less time than a full website, though it greatly depends on what you're after. I work with the S2 site schemes Smooth Sailing and Flexible Squares.
If you have a Twitter page and would like a snazzy custom-made background, I can create one for you with some basic images/information on it (for example, your logo and tag line). See some examples here.
A business card design to match your website. This includes logo, tagline, and contact information.
If you're interested in a design package or service, please send me a message via the contact page.
